How We Got Started

Welcome to Crown Collars!  My name is Ingrid Helmar.  I started Crown Collars in March of 2004, shortly after adopting a retired racing greyhound named Sheana's Shane who we lovingly call Shane.  Having been raised by my mother and great-grandmother who were both professional seamstresses first in Europe and then in the United States, it was only natural that I begin sewing martingales for Shane.  Wanting to give thanks to the adoption group that helped us adopt Shane, I also began donating collars to all of their senior greyhounds looking for homes and to adoption groups worldwide for various fundraising endeavors.

Spreading The Message

Encouraged by family, friends and fellow greyhound adopters, I began selling martingale collars on eBay in March, 2005.  Always expanding, Crown Collars welcomes you to our internet store and hopefully we'll meet you at fundraising events were we vend our collars and try to spread the message about greyhound adoption.
